The city of Vienna is easily accessible from all over the world. It is located in the middle of Europe, in the east boarder of Austria. You are able to reach Vienna via plane, train or car from all over Europe and the world. The functioning public transportation system offers great opportunities to get to know the city and reach the congress centre conveniently.

By plane

The Vienna Airport is easily accessible from all over the world and it has great connections to the city centre with fast trains as well as regional trains.

TRAVEL INFORMATION: The fastest option to reach the city centre from the airport is by City Airport Train (CAT), but you may also use other rail connections or a bus. To reach the ECSS Vienna 2016 congress venue, Austria Centre Vienna (ACV), you can use the bus "Wien Donauzentrum (via VIC), which takes you directly to the congress venue in 30 minutes.

Public transportation

The public transportation is excellent in Vienna and it will secure your smooth travelling in the city and to the congress venue. As a congress participant you will have a possibility to get a discount on 4 days of unlimited travel throughout the city during the congress week. Please find more information on the ticket here.

Please note that you will need to buy a separate ticket to get to the city centre and the congress venue from the airport.

The Congress Venue, Austria Centre Vienna (ACV), is easily accessible via public transportation. It is only 30 minutes from the Vienna airport by direct bus or metro and 7 minutes from the city centre. The nearest station is Keisermühlen-VIC, which you can access with line U1. By car

With a car you have many different ways to choose when you are travelling to Vienna. The high ways in the mid-Europe are in very good conditions you'll have an easy journey to Vienna by car and bus on Austria's excellent network of motorways, expressways and federal highways.

As tolls are compulsory on all motorways and expressways in Austria, you will also need a "Vignette" (toll sticker) to use Vienna's city motorways. You can find detailed information on the toll charges here. The route planner will help you find the best way to Vienna.
